Building Montco is the professional accomplishment Ledet is most proud of. He eventually sold the company to a large company that will continue to grow both the business and its employees. The sale allowed the company he built, and the people who helped build it, to carry forward under new ownership. With it, Ledet retired from the power generation and oil and gas infrastructure business.
Retirement has given Heath Ledet more time for music, and he is getting back into the music business in earnest. He is returning to live performance, focusing on festivals and events. New music is also ready. He has a full album of unreleased music, which he plans to share one song at a time by releasing a new track each month.
His business life also continues. Ledet opened Top Shelf Development, a home and property development company, where he buys a property, builds homes on it, and sells them. The company takes the experience he gained building a business in the energy industry and applies it to residential construction.
Ledet has lived in The Woodlands, Texas, part of the greater Conroe and Montgomery County area, for more than 16 years. He is a father, and his family is an important part of his life. He also owns a ranch in Arkansas, a place to hunt, fish, ride ATV trails, spend time on the lake, hike, and go rock hunting.
He has given back to his community through charitable giving and volunteer work over the years. Ledet has supported the Midland Police Department, contributing to the work of local law enforcement, and United Way, the nonprofit organization that works to strengthen communities through local partnerships. He has supported schools as well, investing in the education of students, and he has been involved in a wide range of other charitable and volunteer efforts.
More than a decade after Chasing My Dreams, Heath Ledet is writing a new chapter that returns him to where he started. His time is now divided among his music, Top Shelf Development, his family, and his ranch in Arkansas.
